Academic Exchange: Voices from China!
01. Workshop:Progress of pelvic floor rehabilitation
The special Workshop hosted by Medlander has attracted many international scholars. Several experts shared valuable insights on the core issues of pelvic floor rehabilitation:
Ms. Małgorzata Starzec-Proserpio of the University of Sherbrooke in Canada proposed that different training goals should be matched with different methods in pelvic floor muscle training. For example, isometric contraction followed by relaxation should be used in hypertonic people.
Ms. Montse Rejano Campo of the University of Montreal, Canada, emphasized that the standardized application of standardized terminology and classification system can significantly improve the clarity and consistency of the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.
Barbel Junginger, editor of the International Journal of Urogynecology, pointed out that the best pelvic floor ultrasound can dynamically capture the level of pelvic floor muscle activation, assess functional changes in multiple positions, and accurately pinpoint the source of abnormal urination /POP/ pain symptoms.
Dr. Niu Xiaoyu from West China Second University Hospital shared that radiofrequency therapy can safely and effectively improve vaginal relaxation, sexual dysfunction, and strengthen pelvic floor muscle. The durability of its effect is supported by histologic evidence.
02 Medlander keynote speech: China experience sharing
Dr. Liu Xiaofang from Suining Central Hospital brought a report entitled "China's Experience in the Construction of Pelvic Floor Intelligent Diagnosis and Treatment Center". She shared her exploration and thinking in dealing with different levels of pelvic floor dysfunction diseases according to the mechanism of action, combined with the application of various physical rehabilitation techniques such as sound, light, electricity, heat, magnetic and ultrasonic acupuncture in Chinese practice.
Mr. Xu Tao from Nanjing Medlander Institute of Medical Technology shared the research progress of "Clinical Efficacy Analysis of Centrifugal Electrical Stimulation Combined with Biofeedback Therapy For Pelvic Floor Dysfunction". He said: Centrifugal electrical stimulation combined with biofeedback therapy for the treatment of PFD can improve pelvic floor muscle function, reduce the clinical symptoms of patients, and obtain ideal therapeutic effect.
03.Medlander poster communication: Display of research results
Medlander displayed the studies entitled "Efficacy Analysis of Radiofrequency For Vaginal Relaxation" and "How to Correctly View the Development of Physical Therapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction" in the wall area. The two studies analyzed the efficacy of non-ablative radiofrequency combined with biofeedback electrical stimulation for vaginal relaxation.
