On November 11, 2024, a delegation of Vietnamese physicians led by the President of the Vietnamese Society of Sexology, Dr. Nguyen Quang, arrived at the People’s Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to participate in the 2024 Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Training Program (Special Session for Vietnamese Trainees). This five-day course serves as a significant platform for cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of pelvic floor health.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Xu Lili, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Leadership from the hospital delivered a welcoming address, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in advancing medical expertise and improving patient care. The Vietnamese delegation leader expressed heartfelt gratitude to the hospital for organizing the specialized program and fostering a collaborative environment for medical professionals.
The training program commenced with a comprehensive overview of pelvic floor rehabilitation, designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in this critical area of healthcare. Dr. Chen Haining, Director of the Ultrasound Department, demonstrated the cutting-edge PI-ONE System, showcasing its advanced applications in pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation. The live demonstration highlighted the importance of integrating technology into clinical practice for enhanced diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.
Another highlight of the program was a lecture and hands-on session led by Dr. Lyu Tingting, Director of Urology at Shanghai Gongli Hospital, affiliated with the Navy Medical University. Dr. Lyu shared her expertise on the application of pelvic floor rehabilitation techniques in addressing lower urinary tract symptoms and pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD). Her session also included a live demonstration of pelvic floor therapy for male patients, showcasing innovative approaches to treating conditions in this underrepresented area of rehabilitation.
The training further explored the integration of magnetic and electrical stimulation technologies in the fields of gynecology, obstetrics, and urology. Participants were provided with insights into how these combined modalities can be used to improve outcomes in pelvic floor rehabilitation, particularly for patients experiencing complex or chronic conditions.
The program concluded with the awarding of GMAA Training Certificates to the Vietnamese physicians, recognizing their commitment to advancing their knowledge and skills in pelvic floor rehabilitation. The certificates symbolize not only professional development but also the strengthening of international ties between China and Vietnam in the healthcare sector.
This collaborative training initiative underscores the importance of cross-border medical exchange in addressing global healthcare challenges. By equipping Vietnamese medical professionals with advanced knowledge and practical skills, the People’s Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in pelvic floor health. The event also highlights the pivotal role of interdisciplinary collaboration in improving patient outcomes and setting new standards for medical training and practice.
As the training continues, it is expected to pave the way for deeper cooperation between Chinese and Vietnamese medical communities, ultimately contributing to the advancement of pelvic floor health and rehabilitation in the region and beyond.
